CastForge: Support from international associations

National and international associations highlight the relevance of CastForge in the industry / Around 60 percent of all exhibitors are international
The second CastForge will be held from 21 to 23 June 2022, after the cancellation of the scheduled date in 2020 and the replacement date in 2021 due to the pandemic. Messe Stuttgart is using this relatively young event as a central platform to provide a comprehensive overview of the market for both national and international suppliers of castings and forgings along with specialist processors. The premiere in 2018 convinced not only trade visitors and exhibitors, but also numerous associations from Germany and abroad with its clear focus on the value-added chain from the casting or forging blank to processing and the final component.

Gunnar Mey, Director of Trade Fairs & Events at Messe Stuttgart, is delighted with the positive, international response in the industry to the very successful first event. This is also reflected in the number of registrations: around 280 exhibitors are expected at CastForge this year, with about 60 percent of the exhibitors being international. The two leading German associations, the Federal Association of the German Foundry Industry (BDG) and the German Forging Association (Industrieverband Massivumformung e.V.), have also been a strong driving force behind the organisers' preparations for the trade fair and will be offering trade visitors a significantly expanded congress and lecture programme for CastForge 2022.

Associations from Italy and Spain show their full support for CastForge
Nearly one in five exhibitors are coming from Italy. For Andrea Redaelli, President of Unione Italiana Stampatori Acciaio (UNISA), CastForge is an extremely important contact point in the industry. We were encouraged to attend CastForge because of its location in a very strong economic region and because of its international trade audience. We are therefore delighted to have promoted it to our members and to have received such an excellent reception, which is why we will be exhibiting on a joint stand at this year's event,” says Andrea Redaelli.

FUNDIGEX, the Spanish foundries' export association, will also be present again this year. “CastForge in Stuttgart is a key industry event for us as an export-oriented association. A trade fair as specialised as CastForge was long overdue, as demonstrated by the positive response to the first event and the great interest shown by our companies for the second event. On top of that, Germany is our main target market and the region around Stuttgart, with its great industrial background, is very appealing to our industry. We are looking forward to being back at a trade fair that is positioned in the very heart of this market,” explains Marina Giacopinelli, Managing Director of FUNDIGEX.

Associations from the Czech Republic and Turkey will also participate in 2022
The Czech Republic is also expressing great interest in CastForge. The Czech Svaz Slevaren foundry association wants to return to the fair with a joint stand. “The Czech foundries have shown plenty of interest in CastForge. The excellent transport connections to the Stuttgart Trade Fair Centre and the modern infrastructure of the venue make CastForge even more attractive for us”, says the Managing Director of Svaz Slevaren, Josef Hlavinka.

This year, CastForge is also able to benefit from the support of the Turkish association IDDMIB. Tahsin Öztiryaki, President of the IDDMIB, explains why: “As Istanbul Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Metals Exporters Association, we strongly believe in the clear direction of CastForge and feel that the event has a lot of potential for our members in the future.” Board member Hülya Gedik adds: “That is why we will have a large joint stand at the event for the first time this year.”
